We began our exploration of Lake Batur in August 2014 and returned to retrieve samples of the lava this year. In this video you can see the different types of lava we saw on this dive and the effort required to get a sample of the lava.

Through the gloom of Lake Batur appeared a mysterious, beautiful, natural wonder. Having fallen into the lake years before, the perfectly preserved tree was a beautiful sight.
